Felicia Leads an Art Affinity Group at Church Camp

Felicia had an opportunity to step into a leadership role at the Foursquare Church Camp for the Virginias. She did such a wonderful job with this and of course we are so very proud and she continues to grow in her walk with Christ and developing her leadership skills and roles. The funniest thing about this is that she confided in me that she had a Jeanne Roberston experience when she sent a male adult to the store for her supplies. I laughed and laughed when she told me all about it. I have to say that she did great with the supplies that he gave her.

The Final Touches to Felicia's Room

It is my desire that she grows to fully understand in her heart, who she is and *whose* she is. We bought her this "name plate" for Christmas last year as a reminder of how special she is not just in her parents' sight, but in God's sight. A visual reminder that her name was chosen especially for her and with purpose.

Felicia means happiness and her bible verse is Habukkuk 3:18 "Yet will I rejoice in the Lord; I will be joyful in the God of my salvation."

Felicia is our joy and a treasure of a daughter. We are thankful for our days with her and hold fast to the memories that we have with her because we know that some day soon, she will begin her own God directed journey away from us.

We wanted to create a visual reminder that even though she may have stormy days when everything goes wrong, she only needs to take refuge in her room to see that she is a beloved daughter of her Heavenly Father and that he holds her in the palm of her hand. Regardless of the cruel words people may hurl at her, in our Lord's sight she is beautiful, precious and he delights in her existence.

So,with that in mind, I put the "I am" above her name, and the "Beloved of God" below her name so that in its entirety, it reads: "I am Felcia; beloved of God." It is right next to her mirror and at her door. We want her to be blessed in her coming and in her going. We love her, can you tell?

All of this script writing for the walls and other mediums are easily removed but not reuseable. Once its off, it's off. The possibilities are endless and you can find a local rep nearby by going to this website and finding and typing in your zipcode. www.uppercaseliving.com
Go to the tab "View Products" and look at the bottom right hand side for "Ready to Shop" and put in your zipcode. You will get hooked!

The final touches that we added to Felicia's room were an inspirational quote that all of her youth group picked for her (they chose from seven). I asked them to choose one that would be inspirational and encouraging every time that she opened her eyes. So they chose the quote by Amy Carmichael "It is a safe thing to trust Him with the desires He creates."

As she comes to the close of her childhood years, it is our hope and prayer that God will create desires in her heart that will point and direct her to the calling he has on her life. And in the quiet of her room and the stillness of the night, she will recognize God's voice and respond to His call and serve him with every inch of her being and all the love in her heart.

This picture truly does not do it justice, but it is beautiful on her wall.

We added the "Friendship" above her picture frame.

Jeanne Robertson - Comedian

This is very funny! Take a listen and if you're a wife and have ever sent your darlin' husband to the store, you might be able to relate on one level or another.
